Where a group of rural parishes wish to enter a project contract together for reasons other than financial constraints they will be the partners and will equally share the ministry costs.
Where there is a strong financial need, the costs of the project may be met through a contribution from each of the partners as set out below.
A project parish is required to contribute a fixed amount toward stipendiary costs during the life of the project. It is proposed that this amount be $20 000 per year for the first three years of the project. Stipendiary costs include, wages, fringe benefits, housing and travel. In addition to fixed contribution, the parish will be required to maintain all nonstipendiary costs: i.e. buildings, insurances, Diocesan assessment
As a primary partner in this project the Bush Church Aid Society will make a contribution to the stipendiary costs of a project priest.
The Diocese of Tasmania through the Ministry Council will make a grant toward the costs of each project partner. The amount will be determined according to financing sources in each financial year. This amount will then be divided equally between project partners.
The specific details of financial arrangements will be negotiated between the partners and the Diocesan Registrar prior to the appointment of a project priest.
