The Anglican Church in Tasmania has for some years operated a toll free telephone line to provide help and support for

  • any person who feels they, or someone they know has experienced sexual abuse or harrassment within the Anglican Church.
  • anyone who has been distressed by reports of such matters.
  • any person who has concerns or complaints in this area.

The support person on the line will listen and talk with you, maintaining complete confidentiality. You need not even give your name.

No information will be passed on to the Anglican Church unless you give express permission. However if you have concerns or complaints you wish to pass on to the church, the support person can assist you to do this.

The telephone service is usually available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Life Link Samaritans is a 24 hour telephone befriending service for people in times of crisis, when they are lonely or to talk over issues.

The Face to Face Befriender Service offers friendship and support to help people through emotionally difficult life situations. A free and confidential service available 9am-5pm weekdays.

The Samaritans offer particular support after suicide, and are active in the area of suicide awareness and suicide prevention.
